1. Russia, Turkey sign deal

• Russia and Turkey have signed a contract on the delivery of the 2nd batch of formidable S-400 air defense missile system.

• The sides are now discussing the financial arrangement of implementing the contract.

• Russia and Turkey signed a loan agreement for the supply of S-400 air defense systems in Sept 2017.

• This resulted in the US suspending deliveries of F-35 fighter jets to its NATO ally.

2. ‘Abhilash’ receives International Award

• A short film based on lockdown titled ‘Abhilash’ has bagged an International Award at the ‘Bengal Lockdown online film Festival’ in the Best Social Message Film category.

• The festival, organized under the supervision of organizer Subhamapurva, witnessed contest from around 135 films from around the world.

• Out of these titles, only 50 titles from 20 countries were officially nominated.

3. Country’s longest ‘ropeway over a river

• The Assam Govt. has inaugurated a 1.8-km- long ropeway over the Brahmaputra, connecting Guwahati to North Guwahati.

• It is the longest ropeway on a river in India. Built at a cost of Rs 56 crore, it comprises of two cabins, each with a capacity of 30 passengers and one operator.

• It takes eight minutes to traverse the entire length of the ropeway.

4. Government of India and AlIB Sign Agreement

• The Govt. of India, Govt. of Maharashtra, Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation, and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AlIB) have signed a loan agreement.

• It has been signed for a $500 million Mumbai Urban Transport Project-ll to improve the network capacity, service quality, and safety of the suburban railway system in Mumbai.

• It is expected to increase network capacity in the region.

5. Zen Technologies gets patent from UK

• Zen Technologies Limited has been granted a patent by UK patent office for containerized tubular shooting range (CTSR).

• The valuable patent will give the company an exclusive right to access in many foreign markets.

• .CTSR is range-in-a-container solution, where security forces can train their personnel rapidly and efficiently than conventional ranges.

6. National Council for Transgender Persons

• The Centre has constituted a National Council for Transgender Persons through a notification. The Social Justice and Empowerment

• Minister will be the ex-officio Chairperson and Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment will be ex-officio Vice- Chairperson.

• It will advise the Centre on the formulation of policies and programs, with respect to transgender persons.

One nation One card scheme integrates four more States/UT’s
• Four more states—Jammu and Kashmir, Manipur, Nagaland, and Uttrakhand
• One nation One Ration Card—a beneficiary of a ration card regardless of their location in the country can avail ration under the National Food Security Act ( NFSA) though one of their ration cards


What is NFSA
• The National Food Security Act 2013 widely known as the Right to Food Act was made into law on 12th September 2013
• There is a various food security program which runs under NFSA Act like Mid-day meal scheme, Integrated Child Development Services Scheme
Government notification on E-invoicing
• The central government comes up with a centralized e-invoicing scheme for business having turnover more than 500 crores
• It is now mandatory for all those businesses with a turnover of more than 500 crores to generate B2B invoices on centralized government portal which will go live from 1st October

Agriculture Ministry is funding start-ups under the innovation and agripreneurship component of Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana- In the first phase,112 startups in the area of agro processing, food technology and value addition will be funded for a sum of Rs. 1185.90 lakh.


A Bill authored by American civil rights leader and lawmaker John Lewis which seeks to establish an exchange programme between India and U.S. to study the work and legacies of Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Junior.
-The Bill also seeks to establish the Gandhi-King Global Academy based on the principles of non-violence.
-It proposes the establishment of the U.S -India Gandhi-King Development Foundation.

One in every Three Child are Poisoned by Lead: UNICEF Report
• United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in a recent report which is first of its kind published
impact of lead on children’s health across the world. As per the recent report one in every three
children is being poisoned by lead.
• Problem
Children, when exposed to lead, gets highly affected. Severe problems like mental health and
behavioral problems, including an increase in crime and violence, can be seen in them.
• Cause
Mainly children from lower economic country and work in the factories where the recycle of
lead is done.

2. India Imposes Import Restrictions on Color TV Sets
• Ban on popular Chinese applications, the Indian Government has moved the import of Color TV
sets from free to restricted and the government is aimed to promote PM Modi’s vision of “Vocal
for Local” which will boost domestic manufacturing and balance the trade deficit the country is
currently facing against China.

3. Sembcorp commissions three wind power projects
• Sembcorp Energy India has announced the successful completion of its three wind power
projects with a total capacity of 800 megawatts (MW).
• The projects were auctioned by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). With this,
Sembcorp became the first independent power producer (IPP) to fully commission its projects
awarded in the first three
• wind auctions held by SECI.

4. Reliance Power, JERA ink loan agreement
• Reliance Power has signed a loan agreement, along with Japanese utility JERA, for $642 million
with a group of lenders for their 745-megawatt gas-based project in Bangladesh.
• In September 2019, Reliance Power inducted JERA as a partner for the 750 MW-gas based
combined cycle power project.
• Reliance Power holds a 51% stake while JERA will hold 49% stake in the joint venture company.

5. NASA Mars Perseverance Rover launch
• NASA launched its Mars Perseverance Rover on July 30, 2020 from Cape Canaveral Air Force
Station, Florida.
• The main aim of the Mars Perseverance Rover is to seek signs of ancient life and collect rock and
soil samples for a possible return to Earth.
• The duration of the mission is expected to be at least one Mars year which is equivalent to 687
days on Earth.
